F Shape Mandolin
 
This F-shape mandolin is more elegant and extravagantly crafted compared to the A-shaped mandolin. The F-shaped mandolin has points and a "scroll" on the top left-hand side of the body, which are very desirable cosmetic features. Many players prefer the F-shape mandolin despite the higher price because these features are traditionally characteristic of a mandolin and thus reflect the culture of mandolins as a whole. The sound quality on this mandolin is excellent, with the spruce top and sapele back & side providing good resonance and a "woody" tone that is commonly associated with a mandolin. The action is low and tuned for maximum comfort when playing.
